Day three of the 2024 Government Fleet Expo & Conference (GFX) convened with more chances to network, collaborate with peers in fleet, and toast to a successful event.

Problem-Solving with Fellow Fleet Professionals

Attendees chose from a handful of topics at the Big Solutions Roundtable.

The morning kicked off with the Big Solutions Roundtable, where people discussed common problems in fleet and came up with solutions for them.

Among other topics, attendees shared about the difficulties in obtaining payment for alternative fuel infrastructure, citing the need for help in getting started. They emphasized the importance of Clean Cities Coalition chapters across the country. The conversation emphasized the need for support in establishing alternative fuel infrastructure.

Additionally, attendees discussed the importance of being a good leader and taking care of your people.

At Police Fleet Conference (PFC), city of Flagstaff, Arizona, Fleet and Facilities Section Director Jennifer Brown moderated a panel on siren technology with representatives from Federal Signal, SoundOff Signal, and Whelen Engineering.

The panel discussed low vs. high frequency sirens and the importance of warning the public about oncoming emergency vehicles as early as possible.

"The more time the motoring public has or pedestrians have to react, the more time a first responder has to safely get where they're going and accomplish their tasks," said Preston Tischer, product manager for Whelen Engineering.

In "Sound Solutions: Highlighting Siren Tech", Paul Gergets of Federal Signal shared about the use cases for high and low frequency sirens, after Doug Baker of SoundOff Signal and Preston Tischer of Whelen Engineering discussed the basics of the two siren types.

GFX 2024 wrapped up with the Farewell Happy Hour, sponsored by Samsara, to give attendees one more chance to connect with their peers.

In 2025, GFX will be held in Charlotte, North Carolina, June 24-27.
