In August 2019, the Bargersville Police Department introduced its first all-electric patrol vehicle, making it one of the first departments in the United States to implement the Tesla Model 3 as a squad car. Since then, three more Tesla Model 3 vehicles have been added to the department’s fleet (Read more here).

On May 27, 2021, the John R. Elliott HERO Campaign unveiled three new members of its fleet of HERO patrol cars aimed at preventing drinking and driving that will serve as rolling billboards in New Jersey's Longport, Pleasantville, and Vineland (Read more here).

The HERO cars are part of the campaign’s “Summer of HEROES” initiative to remind motorists to always have a safe ride home whenever they consume alcoholic beverages.

The cars will be used for regular traffic patrols and special events.

The recruitment wraps have resulted in an increase in the number of contacts due to the information provided on the wraps. Potential applicants are calling and asking various questions about the qualifications for the job.

The department also had a significant increase in the number of applicants from its last hiring process that it believes is associated with the wraps. A brief survey was conducted on all applicants that participated in a recent written and physical testing that revealed 10% of those applicants were a direct result from the vehicle wraps.

The Xenia, Ohio Police Division’s fleet’s DARE vehicle is a 2016 Dodge Ram.

The design is meant to catch the public’s eye with its bright yellow paint job and colorful decals. Cruisers, a local company that has been customizing cars and trucks since 1992, added the truck’s sirens, under lights, and bed cover.

The Nye County, Nevada, Sheriff has changed its police fleet markings to reduce vehicle costs. The new markings are smaller and placed on the doors, so when a fender is damaged, the decal remains intact (Read more here).
