GFX Road Show: Town of Castle Rock

The fleet had just taken delivery of a Ford F-150 with start/stop and a 2.7L V-6 Eco boost engine.

The Town of Castle Rock fleet is an ASE Blue Seal facility.

An Exterra sweeper is used for parking lot sweeping at the town’s various parks.

This Ford Police Interceptor sedan is in the shop for a routine service. The Town’s Fleet Service Division maintains and repairs all Police & Fire vehicles, with the exception of the big fire ladder trucks and pumpers.

This 1999 Polaris 4-wheeler was recycled from the Parks Department to help with snow removal in the fleet parking lot.

The Fleet Services team consists of six employees.

Colell hopes to build a larger fleet maintenance faclity to service the growing fleet -- the facility has seven bays, and he hopes for a 20-bay shop.

The town’s trolley is used primarily for special events but can also be rented out to citizens. It was built in 1996.

Plows are ready for snow from September to May of each year.

These spreader inserts go into the town's 1-ton trucks. When the snow gets over four inches deep, the smaller trucks are deployed in the neighborhoods.

This truck is one of the town's larger plow trucks and is shown equipped with a sander insert that also has side 200-gallon mag tanks.

This is one of the light-duty trucks that doubles as a light snow plow for neighborhood plowing or plowing parking lots. The Town of Castle Rock has 15 heavy-duty plows and 30 light-duty trucks equipped for plowing snow.

This multi-purpose utility vehicle is used by the Parks Department. In the summer, it is used for mowing operations and parks maintenance and in the winter mainly used for plowing sidewalks and trails.

Paul Colell, Castle Rock's fleet manager, said the town is growing rapidly, and it's adding vehicles and employees at a rapid rate.
