GFX Road Show 2014: San Diego County, Calif.

A County Operations Center vehicle is shown in the shop for maintenance.

The county logo is pictured on the side of a vehicle.

The county dispenses about 3 million gallons of gasoline and diesel every year, including fuel purchased by other municipalities.

NAPA IBS employees at the county provide the fleet with parts. Pictured are Bob Hammer (left) and Jose Martinez.

The parking area for the county's 23 prisoner transport trucks is at the fleet facility.

The sheriff's command lunch truck provides meals to sheriff's deputies while they are working long hours, such as search and rescue operations or overnight work. The vehicle is in use every week.

After the tour, Fleet Manager Sharyl Blackington was recorded on camera for the GFX viddeo.

The county is piloting a new, smaller sheriff's prison transport truck that it hopes will be more cost effective than the larger trucks. This truck, which holds 35 prisoners (vs. the larger trucks that carry 55 prisoners), can be used for incidents such as riots and gang-related detentions.

John Manring, fleet coordinator, leads a tour of the fleet facility, including a stop at the NAPA IBS store inside the building.

This GEM cart is one of 20 used by facilities employees to get around the campus.

The fuel island at this facility dispenses unleaded gasoline and diesel.
