Photos: Highlighting 75 Years of Ford Police Cars

Ford is prepping to kick off a major milestone: 75 years of police cars for fleet managers across the U.S. The automaker began offering a Police Package in 1950, which applied to the Ford Custom.

Since then, the police car offerings from Ford have evolved to continue to meet the demands of police officers.

Among Ford's police portfolio are the Bronco Special Purpose, several generations of the legendary Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, the Mustang Patrol, and Police Interceptor Sedan, and the Police Interceptor Utility.

Every Ford police vehicle available in America is assembled in the United States, Ford noted in a news release.

“We are committed to designing products that are durable, safe, purpose-built for law enforcement, upfit friendly, and deliver the performance our customers expect from Built Ford Tough vehicles, that’s what we call our police brand DNA," Ford Police Brand Marketing Manager Lindsey Bertino said.
