Universal Technical Institute Tour

In the Diesel Engines and Powertrains class, UTI students learn how to identify major engine and powertrain components, perform teardown and inspection of all components, and perform precision measurements of parts.

In the Diesel Engine Fuel Systems and Accessories class, students learn the operation and application of diesel engine fuel systems, and engine operation using diagnostic equipment.

In the Introduction to Welding and Cutting class, students learn the theory and application of welding and sheet metal cutting as it applies to collision repair.

The school offers three certifications in vehicle painting. One of the things students learn is how to mix their own paint colors.

The Long Beach campus of the Universal Technical Institute opened in July 2015. The 152,593 square-foot-building has capacity for 800 students.

The Learning Resource Center allows students to use the school's computers any time the school is open.

A lab workspace is available for students studying undercar repairs, steering and suspension, diesel preventive maintenance, and other subjects. This workspace can hold two to four classes at the same time.
