Damage Recovery Firm Drives Funds to Fla. Municipalities

Alternative Claims Management (ACM) was recently awarded an RFP by the City of Longwood, Fla., allowing municipalities across Florida to piggyback on the same contract terms for damage recovery services. ACM’s program offers a new way for municipalities to seek reimbursements on past vehicular accidents, up to four years old. These additional funds can help close the budget gap in the fiscal year ahead at no cost to taxpayers.

The program has been adopted by many city and county governments, including Margate, Seminole, Longwood, Apopka, and Palm Coast.

“ACM partners with municipalities to ensure they are being fairly reimbursed by at-fault insurance carriers when a fleet vehicle is involved in an accident,” says Sean DeAvila, Chief Revenue Officer at Alternative Claims Management. “We want to help the best way we can, by putting funds back into the hands of the taxpayers entitled to them.”

ACM has identified $1.8M in funds for the Fire Department of New York, offsetting budget shortfalls; $110K in loss of revenue from a single 2018 accident for Richmond, Va.; and $38K for an ambulance transport accident in January of 2019.

Features and benefits of ACM’s claims recovery program include:

  • Confidential, no cost analysis of past claims to identify uncollected funds

  • Loss of use and loss of revenue recovery to compensate for vehicle downtime

  • Diminution of value recovery to offset the loss of market value to your vehicle

  • Cloud-based web portal to submit new claims, upload documents, and track status

  • No upfront costs or fees; strictly performance-based service

  • Physical damage, towing, equipment, vehicle wraps, and communication systems can also be recovered

  • Photoscope program for minor hits, keeping vehicles in service longer
