Government Fleet has a roundup of the latest recalls of popular fleet vehicles and equipment.

Braun Vans: Missing Seat Limiter

Braun is recalling certain 2024 Chrysler Pacifica and Voyager vans. The seat limiter may not have been installed, allowing the seat to move too far forward. 

Dealers will inspect and install a seat limiter as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed Dec. 17.

Chrysler Pickup Trucks: Loss of ABS/Traction Control From Module Failure & Inoperative Headlights

Chrysler is recalling certain 2017-2018 Ram 2500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Pickup, 3500 Cab Chassis, 4500 and 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles. An estimated 317,000+ vehicles are included in the recall.

The hydraulic control unit (HCU) may fail, which can cause the anti-lock brake (ABS), electronic stability control, and traction control systems to fail.

Dealers will replace the brake HCU, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Jan. 9, 2025.

Chrysler is also recalling certain 2025 Ram 1500 pickup trucks. Incorrect headlight module software may cause the headlights to become inoperative. A total of 53 vehicles are estimated to be included in the recall.

Dealers will update the headlight module software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Jan. 21, 2025.

Chrysler SUVs: Improper Air Bag Deployment & Rearview Camera Image May Not Display

Chrysler is also recalling certain 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L SUVs. The radiator crossmember bolts may not be properly secured, which can lead to improper air bag deployments and a fuel leak during a crash. 

Dealers will inspect and secure the crossmember bolts as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Jan. 9, 2025.

Chrysler is also recalling certain 2024 Jeep Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, Grand Cherokee, and Grand Cherokee L vehicles. A total of about 79,000 vehicles are included in the recall.

Incorrect software in the rearview camera module may cause the rearview camera image not to display.

Dealers will update the rearview camera module software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed January 21, 2025.

Daimler Vans: Instrument Cluster Display Too Bright

Daimler Vans is recalling certain 2019-2022 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans. The instrument cluster illumination may not be adjustable and appear too bright in certain lighting conditions.

Dealers will update the instrument cluster software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Feb. 7, 2025.

Ford Pickup Trucks: Loss of Steering from Front Control Arm Separation

Ford is recalling certain 2023-2024 F-150 Lightning battery-electric vehicles. The front upper control arm ball joint nut may not have been tightened properly, allowing the front upper control arm to detach from the knuckle assembly.

Nearly 12,000 vehicles are included in the recall.

Dealers will inspect the upper control arm ball joint nut, and replace the nut and/or knuckle assembly, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Feb. 3, 2025.

General Motors Trucks: Tailgate May Open While Driving

General Motors is recalling over 131,000 trucks equipped with power-unlatching tailgates. The recall includes 2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD 2500, 3500, and GMC Sierra HD 2500, 3500 trucks. 

The tailgate's electronic gate-release switch may short circuit due to water intrusion, which can result in the tailgate inadvertently unlatching while the vehicle is in park.

Fleet drivers are advised to check that the tailgate is closed and latched before driving. Dealers will replace the exterior touchpad switch assemblies, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed Dec. 17, 2024.

GM SUVs: Insufficient Pedestrian Warning Sound

GM is also recalling certain 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV SUVs. The pedestrian alert sound system may have incorrect software and not produce sound at a sufficient volume. 

Dealers will update the software in the body control module (BCM), free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Jan. 27, 2025.

International Trucks: Delayed Service Brake Release & Inoperative Defrosting System

International Motors is recalling certain 2022-2025 HX trucks. The service brake may take longer than expected to release. An estimated 57 vehicles are affected by the recall.

International will install larger air lines or a quick release valve (QRV) as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Jan. 13, 2025.

International is also recalling certain 2025 EMV trucks. A circuit breaker may be missing, causing the defrosting system to be inoperative. 

Dealers will install a 5A circuit breaker and a label, free of charge. Owner notification letters for this recall are expected to be mailed Jan. 25, 2025.

PACCAR Trucks: Loss of Steering Control & Insufficient Lubricant in Front Steer Drive Axle

PACCAR is recalling certain truck models with PACCAR 20k steer axles. The affected models include:

  • 2024 Kenworth T480, T800

  • 2024-2025 Kenworth T880

  • 2024-2025 Peterbilt 520, 567

  • 2024 Peterbilt 367, 389, 548

The steering arm and/or tie rod bracket fasteners may fail, resulting in a loss of steering control.

Dealers will install new correctly torqued fasteners, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Feb. 1, 2025.

PACCAR is also recalling certain 2024 Peterbilt 537, 2024-2025 Kenworth T380, T480, Peterbilt 548, and 2025 Peterbilt 536 trucks, equipped with certain Meritor 10-16K and 18-23K front steer drive axles. 

The front steer drive axles may have insufficient wheel bearing lubricant.

Dealers will inspect and repair the wheel end with new parts and lubricate the bearings as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Jan. 24, 2025.

Pierce Fire Trucks: Incompatible Tires and Wheels

Pierce Manufacturing is recalling approximately eight 2023-2024 Enforcer, Quantum, and Velocity fire trucks. The tires mounted on the front steer axles are incompatible with the wheels.

Pierce will supply new front steer axle wheel/tire assemblies and updated tire information labels, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a schedule for recall notification.

Tesla EVs: TPMS Light May Not Remain Illuminated, Headlights May Flicker & Front Seat Back Recliners Improperly Welded

Tesla is recalling certain 2024 Cybertruck, 2017-2025 Model 3, and 2020-2025 Model Y electric vehicles. Over 694,000 vehicles are included in the recall.

The tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning light may not remain illuminated between drive cycles, failing to warn the driver of low tire pressure. 

Tesla released an over-the-air (OTA) software update, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Feb. 15, 2025.

Tesla is also recalling certain 2024 Model X EVs. An estimated 25 vehicles are included in the recall. The parking lights and low beam headlights may flicker.

Tesla is also recalling certain 2024 Model Y vehicles. The weld attaching the seat recliner mechanism to the front seat backs may fail. Approximately 27 vehicles are included in the recall.

Tesla service will replace the seat assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Jan. 21, 2025.
