Derive Systems, a fleet management software provider, has announced the launch of its new platform, VQ Insight. The new platform, enabled by the Derive VQ technology, allows commercial fleets to monitor their vehicles' fuel savings and emissions reductions in real-time.

With VQ Insight, fleet managers can monitor per-vehicle and aggregate data for comparison across vehicle models and timeframes, while identifying areas of high fuel consumption and carbon emissions, and correcting unsafe or inefficient driving patterns to enhance efficiency.

A study released by Derive Systems, an automotive decarbonization company, and ClimeCo, an ESG advisory firm, revealed that Derive’s VQ Platform improved fuel efficiency across fleet vehicles by an average of 8.3% during driving and up to 20% during idling. By reducing fuel usage, Derive Systems’ technology reduces fleets’ greenhouse gas emissions.

"On average, the Derive VQ solution generates between 6% to 10% immediate fuel savings per vehicle, while simultaneously implementing speed thresholds on the engine itself," said Derive VQ Chief Executive Officer John Oechsle. "We take pride in delivering immediate fuel efficiency and vehicle safety to enterprise fleets of all sizes. With VQ Insight, we now make it easy to visualize savings, impact and the next moves to continuously improve overall fleet performance."

VQ Insight is an essential solution for companies aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and save money at the pump. Through one 30-minute installation per vehicle, Derive's VQ fleet management solution helps achieve lower fuel costs, promote sustainable fleet management practices, and prioritize driver safety.

"Our new platform comes at a critical juncture for commercial light-duty vehicles, with petrol prices on the rise due to COVID-19 and geopolitical tensions," said Craig Montgomery, Chief Revenue Officer at Derive Systems. "While this may generate interest in electric vehicles, challenges such as charging infrastructure and costs could limit adoption. Our solution provides a timely and effective way to address the issue of rising fuel costs and serves as a transitional technology to pave the way for the adoption of electric vehicles."

Derive Systems has been at the forefront of transforming sustainability and safety in fleet management since 2010, with more than two million software installations. Its scalable fleet management software platform enables fleet managers to reduce total fuel consumption without compromising vehicle performance.
