Elbit Systems announced it has been awarded a $228 million contract from General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems to supply its Iron Fist Active Protection System for the Bradley Fighting Vehicle program.
The award follows a U.S. government notice published Sept. 29, 2025, confirming an order to GD-OTS for the Bradley Fighting Vehicle Active Protection System. Elbit said the contract will be carried out over three years.
Iron Fist Active Protection System
Iron Fist is a hard-kill active protection system designed to improve the survivability of armored platforms against modern battlefield threats. The system provides 360-degree protection and is built with low size, weight, and power requirements.
According to Elbit, Iron Fist is designed to counter threats including:
Anti-tank rockets
Anti-tank guided missiles
Unmanned aerial systems
Loitering munitions
Kinetic-energy tank ammunition
The system is intended for use in both open terrain and urban environments.
Continued U.S. Army Integration
The contract follows an initial award from GD-OTS announced by Elbit in May 2024. Iron Fist has been selected by the Israel Defense Forces and other NATO and allied militaries for use across multiple armored platforms.
Elbit said this marks the third time the system has been selected by the U.S. Army.
“Our active protection system continues to demonstrate its capabilities,” said Bezhalel Machlis, president and CEO of Elbit Systems. “We value our partnership with GD-OTS and the U.S. Army in supporting troop protection.”
