GILBERT and QUEEN CREEK, AZ – The Towns of Gilbert and Queen Creek, Ariz., have formed an intergovernmental agreement for Gilbert’s fleet services division to maintain Queen Creek’s fleet, according to Gilbert’s Town documents. The documents state preventive maintenance will bring in $45,160, and $95,865 in revenue from unscheduled repairs, without increasing overhead for Gilbert’s fleet maintenance staff. Total revenue is $164,825 for Gilbert.
Gilbert’s fleet maintenance staff is able to take on the additional work of maintaining and repairing 90 units in Queen Creek’s fleet due to greater operational efficiency in Gilbert's fleet services division.
The Town’s fleet services division consolidated its solid waste operations, thereby improving operational efficiency, according to Town documents. The division’s Fleet Manager Jim Brohamer states in the document that Queen Creeks’ vehicles will be “filtered in” when repair demand is low.
The agreement allows either Town to terminate the agreement with 30 days’ notice. It also allows both parties to agree to extend the agreement for up to four, one-year terms.
