Government fleet sales were down down year-over-year in February with 18,383 vehicles sold, falling 15.4% from 21,737 in February 2024. [Government fleet totals include numbers from Ford, GM, and Stellantis only. The six major Asian-based automakers did not report any monthly fleet sales].
Monthly Totals Down from 2024
While February saw an increase of monthly total sales at 18,383, compared to the 16,974 sales in January, overall numbers were down between February 2025 and this time last year.
February data from automakers' reports showed that car sales were at 126, a 557 vehicle sales difference (81.6%) from the 683 cars sold in February 2024. Truck and SUV sales, which traditionally see the highest sales month to month were down 13.3% with only 18,257 vehicles sold in 2025 compared to the 21,054 sold in 2024.
Looking at the Year So Far
Year to Date, cars sales had the biggest drop compared to 2024 with a 75.2% difference with 1,210 cars sold in 2024 and only 300 in 2025.
Truck and SUV sales were down 127% YTD coming in at 35,231 compared to 2024's 40,348. Total YTD sales were down 14.5%, a difference of 6,027 vehicles.
