The Sacramento (Iowa) Fire Department received a $100,000 anonymous donation to replace a nearly 50-year-old fire truck. The agency first began efforts to replace the fire truck a decade ago, reported 1380 KCIM.
Instead of purchasing a new truck, Sacramento FD purchased a used truck from the City of West Des Moines, Iowa, and plans to refurbish it. The truck cost $60,500, and the total cost after refurbishment is expected to reach $110,000. The refurbished truck is expected to arrive by September 1.
Editor's Note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly listed the city as Sacramento, Calif. It has been updated.
