The MD XUV Motorcades are designed for for high profile individuals, heads of state, and others who need personal protection

The Armored Group and McSweeney Designs rolled out the highly specialized armored MD XUV Motorcade for high profile individuals, heads of state, and others who need personal protection. The companies developed the MD XUV Motorcade specifically for a foreign head of state but found there was a global interest for similarly up-fit vehicles.

The Armored Group first up-armored the MD XUV Motorcade from a Ford Expedition at its Toronto facility before sending it to McSweeney Designs, a luxury coach design and manufacturing facility in Alabama, to outfit the interior.

Some of the vehicle’s features include a “Powerslide” ballistic steel retractable roof system that enables the passenger to have push-button access to stand up and address people through the roof of the vehicle and a “Powerlift” function that acts as a personal elevator to lift the traveling dignitary up through the roof. It also includes three-stage security camera system that allows passengers in the rear cabin to monitor the activity in the front and rear of the vehicle as well as that of the driver and front passenger as well as luxury features.

The MD XUV Motorcade Edition is now available for commission. The same equipment is currently being applied on another platform, a GMC Yukon XL. Other vehicles can be outfit with this level of security and luxury as long as the vehicle platform can safely support the additional weight and technical specifications, according to the companies.
