The Snap-on Software Upgrade 17.2 is loaded with millions of new codes, tests, tips, and data for 1981-2016 model years, as well as expanded functional tests, resets, adaptions, guided component tests, Auto ID, One-Touch Code Scan and Clear, and more.

“Technicians can maximize the capabilities of their diagnostic platforms and make the most of the power to diagnose the challenges that pull into the bay, every day, by keeping their diagnostic tools updated with the latest software,” said Mark Schaefer, director of marketing, Snap-on Diagnostics. “Over half of the new coverage in every software release is for older models so just think of the revenue potential in an upgrade investment.”

Only Snap-on delivers this level of factory coverage for 22 domestic, 15 Asian, and 12 European makes. New 2017 model year coverage has been added for Acura, Chrysler, Dodge, GM, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Jeep, Kia, Lincoln, Mitsubishi, and Ram. Optional European coverage includes 2016 model year updates for Alfa Romeo, Audi, FIAT, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and Volkswagen.

Plus, Snap-on introduces brand new Harley Davidson coverage in Software Upgrade 17.2, including all major systems with engine, ABS, hands-free, security, turn signal, hand control module, body controls, instrument, speedometer and tachometer on 2000 and newer motorcycles. Read and clear OEM-specific fault codes, perform One-Touch Code Scan for all available systems, display live data in digital and graphing views, and perform functional tests. The Smart Vehicle Interface, sold separately, includes both Harley-Davidson adapters in one and provides secure activation for scan tool software.

Software Upgrade 17.2 highlights:

  • BMW expert mode and module coding

  • Ford diesel transmission characterization

  • Enhanced Ford, Mazda, and Toyota EVAP testing

  • GM 6.6L diesel catalyst reset, hybrid coolant bleed, and suspension control
