WATERFORD, WI—Runzheimer International and ZoomSafer announced the availability of ZoomSafer’s FleetSafer Vision and FleetSafer Mobile safe driving solutions through the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Multiple Awards Schedule program.

Through its partnership with Runzheimer International, ZoomSafer’s FleetSafer Vision and FleetSafer Mobile are the first safe driving solutions to be available for purchase to federal, state, and local government agencies through the program. These solutions will help agencies comply with the current Executive Order restricting government employees’ cell phone use while driving.

Numerous laws and regulations have been passed in recent years in an effort to reduce the potential for the average citizen to engage in distracted driving activities such as operating a mobile phone while driving. In October 2009, President Obama signed Executive Order 13513 banning federal employees from texting and driving while using a government-provided car, or when they use their own car and a government-provided cell phone.

The Order also requires each agency to provide a specific program on how they will implement the program, monitor and manage employee mobile phone use. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) each also have rules and regulations in place to mitigate the potential for government employees to engage in distracted driving behaviors.

“Regulations that have been passed to help prevent government employees from texting and emailing while driving, provide a solid foundation for promoting greater levels of safety,” said ZoomerSafer CEO, Matt Howard. “With the addition of FleetSafer Vision and FleetSafer Mobile to the GSA Schedules program, government agencies, local municipalities and state organizations will now have technology available to them for effectively monitoring employee mobile phone use. This will provide a missing tool to enforce these vital distracted driving policies and regulations.”

FleetSafer Vision and FleetSafer Mobile are available through the GSA Schedules program via a partnership with Runzheimer International, an authorized ZoomSafer reseller, and Government Marketing and Procurement (GMP). Runzheimer also announced today that is offering its Mobile Watch Services, a leading mobile device expense management service to government agencies through the General Services Administration (GSA) Information Technology (IT) 70 Schedule.

“We are pleased that we can bring FleetSafer Mobile and FleetSafer Vision to the GSA Schedules program through our partnership with ZoomSafer and GMP,” said Kraig Rodenbeck CMC, NPDP, vice president, Government Services, Runzheimer International. “Government agencies now have access to important solutions that will enable them to effectively enforce their distracted driving policies and improve public safety.”

FleetSafer Vision and FleetSafer Mobile are available through the GSA Schedules program via a partnership with Runzheimer International, an authorized ZoomSafer reseller, and Government Marketing and Procurement (GMP), a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business. FleetSafer Vision and FleetSafer Mobile will be available for purchase by all federal, state and local agencies through GMP’s Information Technology Schedule 70 contract, under Special Item Number 132-52, Electronic Commerce and Subscription Services, on p. 77 of GMP’s product and service catalog.
