TORRANCE, CA – The MSRC Clean Transportation Funding and Clean Cities FY09 Reduction Technologies Project for the Transportation Sector grants will be closing May 29, with the American Re-investment and Recovery Act Energy Efficient and Conservation Block Grants following less than one month later on June 25. See below for details.

MSRC Clean Transportation Funding
Closing Date: May 29, 2009
Eligibility: 150 cities and counties in the SCAQMD (Southern California Air Quality Management District aqmd.gov). Counties include Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, etc.

Clean Cities FY09 Petroleum Reduction Technologies Projects for the Transportation Sector
Closing Date: May 29, 2009
Eligibility: must be in the Clean Cities Coalition.
Details: Funds are being offered for cost-shared projects that expand the use of alternative-fueled and advanced technology vehicles. Operation and maintenance of vehicles, infrastructure, and other associated equipment acquired through the program are also allowable within specified limits.

American Re-investment and Recovery Act - Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants
Closing Date: June 25, 2009
Eligibility: States, U.S. Territories, Indian tribes, and units of local governments (cities and counties and their equivalents). $1.9 billion for cities and counties, $770 million for states.
Details:  The purpose of the EECBG Program is to assist eligible entities in creating and implementing strategies to reduce fossil fuel emissions and total energy use, as well as improve energy efficiency in the building and transportation sectors.
