The City of Victorville, Calif., has purchased five command vehicles for its newly relaunched Fire Department and plans to expand its fleet even further, the Daily Press reported.
The city has purchased five Ford Interceptor Utility vehicles for battalion and division chiefs as well as staff officers, and will add at least two fire engines and a ladder truck over the next four years.
San Bernardino County has provided the city with fire services for 10 years. The switch to an in-house Fire Department is seen as a financial remedy rather than an indictment of performance, the newspaper reported.
