Clean Energy Fuels Corp. has been awarded multiple natural gas fuel agreements in the state of Missouri over the last few weeks. With these agreements, Clean Energy will build and operate CNG fueling stations for two municipalities and one school district in Missouri.

The company will build, own, and operate a public-access CNG station in the City of Kansas City, Mo. The City will use it to fuel its 265 light-, medium-, and heavy-duty natural gas vehicles. The City plans to grow its natural gas fleet to more than 400 units.

Clean Energy plans to build, own and operate a public-access CNG station located at the midway point between Kansas City and St. Louis, Mo., necessary to complete the I-70 CNG corridor between these two cities. The station will serve the City of Columbia, Mo., which has a fleet of 30 natural gas vehicles consisting of refuse trucks, transit buses, and medium-duty vehicles.  

Finally, Clean Energy is building and will own and operate a public-access CNG station to serve the Lee’s Summit School District, in Missouri, which has a fleet of 140 CNG buses. Projected fuel and maintenance cost savings to the district is expected to be approximately $11 million over the next 10 years, according to Clean Energy.
