The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) announced the Connecticut Clean Fuel Program funds it plans to award to regional municipalities and agencies. The fund total for this round is $925,776 and comes from the Federal Highway Administration through the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) Program.
The program’s goal is to encourage the use of alternative-fuel vehicles and or diesel retrofit technologies or emissions control devices. Funds given through the program pay the difference between buying a standard vehicle and an alternative-fuel vehicle or pay for the full cost of any diesel retrofit technologies. Funding recipients have until Dec. 31, 2014, to purchase a given vehicle or retrofit technology to receive reimbursement.
