Sales of vehicles to government fleets from nine manufacturers increased 12.5% to 17,363 for the month of November, according to Automotive Fleet data.
The month was driven by a sharp increase in sales of passenger cars, which increased 61.6% to 4,867 units for the month. Sales of trucks, vans, and SUVs increased 2.2% to 14,666 units.
For the year to date through 11 months, fleet sales have fallen 4% to 229,500 from the comparable period in 2014. The truck category has increased 5.8% to 163,712, while the car category has fallen 28.2% for the year so far.
