Sales of fleet vehicles to government agencies from five manufacturers increased 13.2% to 22,160 units in July on the strength of sales of trucks, SUVs, and vans.
Truck-based sales increased 24.8% to 18,445 vehicles compared to July of 2015, while sales of passenger cars fell 22.7% to 3,715 vehicles.
For the calendar year to date, government fleet sales have increased 34.3% to 179,534 units compared to the first seven months of 2015. Truck-based sales increased 38.7% to 145,833, while sales of passenger cars have increased 18.1% year to date.
