Sales of vehicles from nine manufacturers to government agencies increased 37.8% to 21,714 vehicles in April compared to the same period a year ago, according to Automotive Fleet data.
Truck sales outpaced car sales, but both categories saw potent increases. Sales of trucks, vans, and SUVs increased 45% to 16,908, while sales of passenger cars increased 12.4% to 4,806 units.
Fleet sales has seen a strong boost in 2016 with a 42% increase to 69,658 vehicles for the first four months. Truck sales have increased 43.2%, while car sales have grown 37%.
