
Sales of fleet vehicles to government agencies from nine manufacturers increased 38.2% to 21,682 units from a year ago on the strength of trucks, vans, and SUVs, according to Automotive Fleet data.
Truck category sales increased 46.9% to 17,355 vehicles in the month compared to February of 2015, while passenger car sales increased 11.8% to 4,327 vehicles.
Year-to-date sales remain strong with a 35.2% increase to 40,743 vehicles sold compared to the first two months of 2015. Government fleets have purchased 35.2% more trucks, vans and SUVs (23,788) and 35.8% more passenger cars (6,324) through February.
