Scott County, Ind., EMS debuted a new ambulance covered in military artwork on Veterans Day, Nov. 11.
Scott County EMS director Shannon Mount said the veterans ambulance will be the first of five EMS vehicles dedicated to community groups, according to a report by Wave 3 News.
Mount told WAVE 3 News the county has spent $1 million on ambulance upgrades, on top of another $1.5 million for equipment improvements, but he said the money will likely be reimbursed by the federal government. Inside, the new ambulances have a UV scrubber and an HVAC system. The county currently has five ambulances in its fleet.
