The Ardmore, Okla., Fire Department is replacing a nearly 20-year-old fire truck, one of three fire trucks that are at least 18 years old The Daily Ardmoreite stated. The AFD training officer told the newspaper that when purchasing new vehicles, the department takes into consideration wehther it costs more to maintain and operate an aging truck than buying a new one.

The new set of wheels is thanks to a sales tax vote, according to a report by Fox News 12. The roughly $250,000 truck was paid for by leftover money from a quarter-cent sales tax passed a few year ago.
