The Conroe, Texas, City Council approved $1.3 million for five pieces of heavy equipment for the Public Works Department and 20 trucks for the 2013-'14 budget year.

The funds will pay for an excavator, two loaders, and a dozer from Doggett Heavy Machinery and a haul trailer from Mustang Tractor. Gullo Ford will provide the 20 trucks.

The trucks will go to various departments in the 60,000-resident city including the water department, streets, parks, and the police department, reports The Courier.
