Bobcat Company’s 35PH and 50PH planetary drive augers are compatible with approved models of Bobcat skid-steer loaders, compact track loaders, all-wheel steer loaders, and compact excavators.

These units are designed with a high-torque gearbox, allowing them to deliver more power for difficult installations at deeper digging depths and for working in tough conditions such as rock, clay, coral, and frost. Greater torque can be especially beneficial for excavating, grading, and site development.

Both the 35PH and 50PH planetary augers are 11.5 inches wide and 39.6 inches long and can dig to depths of 73 inches without an extension. An optional adjustable inner extension is available to increase the digging depth an additional 48 inches. The 35PH planetary auger provides 4,177 ft.-lbs. of torque at 3,500 psi, while the 50HP offers 5,291 ft.-lbs. of torque at 3,500 psi.

The additional torque of a planetary drive can be used to dig deep holes more efficiently than a direct drive auger in tough applications, the company stated. Featuring an efficient displacement design, the 30PH and 50PH augers have smaller drive housings — less than 12 inches long. This smaller housing allows it to follow the bit all the way into the hole to achieve deeper depths. The two-piece shaft design ensures maximum side load ratings without increasing the load on bearings.

The longer heavy-duty and rock bits also contribute to deeper holes. At 61.5 inches long, these bits are at least 12 inches longer than current Bobcat auger bits. The new PH auger also has a longer and stronger 2.5-inch hex output shaft to handle the increased torque output.

The 35PH and 50PH planetary augers are designed with a versatile mounting system that helps operators switch the auger between loaders and excavators.
