The Doosan DX140W wheel excavator combines increased power and performance with interim Tier 4 (iT4) updates. New technologies make this excavator ideal for highway and street development, construction, and bridge and railway development.

The DX140W is powered by a 135-hp, 6-cylinder DL06KB water-cooled diesel engine that has been optimized for use with cooled exhaust gas recirculation (CEGR) system, diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and diesel particulate filter (DPF). The engines in this configuration are optimized to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOX) and after-treatment is needed to reduce particulate matter to comply with iT4 emission regulations. The turbocharged 359-cubic-inch engine features a high pressure common rail design with direct fuel injection, electronic control, and four valves per cylinder.

The Electronic Power Optimizing System (EPOS) provides power and fuel efficiency via four work modes, auto-idle and machine diagnostics. Operators can work more effectively with multiple operating modes, easy-to-read display monitors and precise control levers. The Power Plus mode provides improved performance and faster workgroup speeds for heavy-duty work. Operators can choose from four work modes — digging, breaker, shear, and the new lifting mode.

A new electronic fan clutch reduces fuel consumption and noise levels, while providing cooling system improvements. Outriggers can be controlled individually to level the machine on uneven surfaces.  The front axle oscillates and provides excellent steering angles for maneuverability, but can be locked for better digger and lifting performance.
