CASE Construction Equipment’s SR270 radial-lift skid steer and SV300 vertical-lift skid steer come with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology and meet final Tier 4 emissions requirements.

The SCR engine technology is provided by Fiat Powertrain Technologies. Operators need to top off the diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) tank when they refuel, but there are no daily or intensive maintenance efforts required by the new technology and no diesel particulate filter (DPF) to maintain or replace.

Because SCR is an after-treatment system, it lowers exhaust temperatures and does not require unproductive fuel use associated with burning off particulate matter, which the company says significantly reduces fuel use compared to systems with DPFs. It also removes complexity for operators and maintenance staff by eliminating regeneration associated with DPFs.

The new skid steers weigh in at 8,117 (SR270) and 8,655 (SV300) lbs., deliver best-in-class torque of 282 ft.-lbs., and bucket breakout force up to 8,776 lbs. Rated at 90 gross hp, the machines include standard (24.2 gallons-per-minute (gpm)) and high-flow auxiliary (37.6 gpm) hydraulics for excellent power and attachment versatility. The SR270 has a rated operating capacity of 2,700 lbs. at 90 hp. A 25.5-gallon fuel tank extends runtimes and ensures that the machines can work the entire day without refueling
