The Bobcat T740 is powered by a diesel engine that is under 75 hp and does not require a diesel particulate filter (DPF), selective catalytic reduction (SCR), or diesel exhaust fluid (DEF). The T740, a M-series machine, works well in construction, landscaping, agriculture, buildings and grounds, and other market segments.

The T740 is designed to work long hours on demanding jobsites. The vertical-lift-path loaders are crafted to lift loads higher so it’s easier to clear high-sided truck boxes and hoppers. The hydraulic systems on M-series loaders also have higher standard flow and pressure, for increased attachment performance.

The machine uses a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) to meet Tier 4 emission standards, but without the need for a DPF. The DOC is a special catalyst that reacts with engine exhaust upon contact and transforms combustion byproducts into water and carbon dioxide.

The Tier 4-compliant Bobcat non-DPF solution features an ultra-low particulate combustion (ULPC) engine with a specifically designed engine combustion chamber that significantly reduces the amounts of particulate matter created during combustion to enable Tier 4 compliance without using a DPF, according to the company.

Like all M-Series compact track loaders, the T740 features a cab-forward design that moves operators closer to the attachment and the work area, plus provides visibility in all directions. The new loader has a larger cab door, which improves visibility to attachments, particularly to the cutting edge and corners of the bucket.

Simple check points and loader design elements make it easier to perform maintenance at the proper intervals. Auxiliary quick couplers are mounted directly to the front plate of the lift arm to provide a solid mounting, and hoses are routed through the loader arms for better protection. A guard bar extends in the front of the coupler for added protection and to minimize downtime.
