The compact track loader (CTL) market has seen substantial growth over the last several years. Ryan Anderson of New Holland said CTLs in general are a main factor in the growth of the overall light construction industry.

One of the largest-growing CTL sectors has been the 3,000 lb.-rated-operating capacity-and-over segment. That power is necessary for lifting larger and heavier materials. Auxiliary hydraulic power is also necessary to power the various new attachments that the industry has produced over the last 10 years or so.

Those factors led New Holland to build its new C362, which is the largest compact track loader the company has built to date.

‘Heaviest-Duty-Possible CTL’ for New Holland

How large is it? The C362 offers 114 gross hp, a rated operating capacity of 6,200 lbs., and a breakout force of 12,900 lbs.

New Holland launched a couple new compact track loaders four or five years ago, kicking off a project for an even larger CTL with an extra-large frame in the process.

“This 362 is an all-new chassis, frame, and componentry, built and designed to be the most extreme and heaviest-duty-possible CTL that we can offer,” said Anderson, product marketing manager for New Holland Construction North America.

The new frame design includes a heavy-duty steel rear door and rear hood. To increase ingress clearance, bucket cylinders are mounted on the front of the boom arms. That helps add an even greater capacity of bucket breakout force.

Greater dump reach and height are additional features, along with full 360-degree visibility that comes with the C362’s low-profile Super Boom arm and shoulder design, a rear camera, and LED front work lights.
