Takeuchi released its redesigned TL8R2 compact track loader with a goal of achieving top serviceability, durability, ride quality, and operator comfort.

The company’s product manager, Lee Padgett, highlighted several new features of the product, including a radial lift loader design for greater bucket breakout and lift arm forces.

The new undercarriage design for the TL8R2 uses a combination of double and triple flange track rollers, internally routed drive lines for greater protection, and a quiet ride track design.

New cabin features include a redesigned overhead door, 5.7-inch color multi-informational display, and standard rearview camera. A sealed rocker switch bank provides the operator with a wider range of operational information. Low-effort pilot controls and proportional auxiliary switches help the operator work more efficiently in a reduced-fatigue environment.

Additional options geared toward operator comfort include a pressurized cab as well as a roll-up door, A/C, heat, defrost and front wiper, and AM/FM/Bluetooth radio.

Creep Mode Makes Operation Easier

“Rounding out the list of new features offered on the TL8R2 is an optional Creep Mode function and step-down travel motors with high-flow auxiliary hydraulics, making this one of Takeuchi’s most versatile and capable track loaders to date,” Padgett wrote in an e-mail to Government Fleet.

With Creep Mode, operators will be able to match the track loader’s forward speed to a particular attachment without having to constantly meter the travel lever. The creep mode function works for attachments that require a consistent, repeatable travel speed, such as a cold planer and a trencher. A sealed rocker switch bank helps improve performance and functionality, providing the operator with more operational information.

The loader’s 74.3-hp turbocharged engine is compliant with EPA Tier 4 Final emissions standards. The diesel oxidation catalyst and diesel particulate filter minimize emissions.
