Government Fleet has a roundup of the latest recalls of popular fleet vehicles and equipment.

Altec Industries: Front Bumper May Detach

Altec Industries is recalling certain 2024–2025 Aerial Device and Digger Derrick vehicles. The front winch bumper may be secured with incorrect bolts, which can cause the bumper to detach. A detached bumper can become a road hazard and increase the risk of a crash. In addition, the bolts can fail suddenly during winch operation, increasing the risk of injury.

Altec will replace the bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 10, 2025. 

AMO: Trailer Axle May Be Improperly Secured

American Manufacturing Operations (AMO) is recalling certain 2025 AMO Utility trailers. The shackle nuts securing the axle to the chassis may loosen, allowing the axle to detach from the trailer.

AMO will remove the shackle nuts and install new shackle nuts, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Sept. 5, 2025. 

BMW: High-Voltage Battery May Fail

BMW of North America is recalling certain 2022–2025 iX, 2023–2024 i7, and 2022–2023 i4 vehicles. The high-voltage battery cell modules may not have been assembled properly, resulting in stress on the module frame and possible failure.

Dealers will replace specific high-voltage battery cell modules, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Sept. 5, 2025.

BMW: Emergency Call System May Fail

BMW is recalling certain 2025 F 900 GS, F 800 GS, R 1300 GS, R 1300 GS Adventure, S 1000 RR, S 1000 R, and K 1600 GT motorcycles equipped with the optional emergency call system. A software programming error may have deactivated the system.

The electronic control unit software will be updated over-the-air (OTA) or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters are scheduled to be mailed Sept. 12, 2025. 

Chrysler: Rearview Camera Image May Not Display

Chrysler is recalling certain 2024–2025 Chrysler Pacifica vehicles. The vehicles were built with an incorrect radio, which can cause the rearview camera image not to display, failing to comply with FMVSS 111, “Rear Visibility.”

Dealers replaced the radio, free of charge. All affected vehicles have been repaired. Owner notification letters were mailed Aug. 7, 2025. 

Chrysler: Incorrect Brake System Warning Light

Chrysler is recalling certain 2026 Ram 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis, 4500 Cab Chassis, and 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles. The instrument panel may display an incorrect brake system warning light, failing to comply with FMVSS 101, “Control and Displays.”

Dealers will replace the instrument panel cluster, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 25, 2025. 

Chrysler: TPMS Light May Not Illuminate

Chrysler is recalling certain 2024–2025 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. The remote start antenna cable may be pinched, which can cause the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning light not to illuminate as intended, failing to comply with FMVSS 138, “Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems.”

Dealers will inspect and replace the remote start antenna cable as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on September 2, 2025. 

Ford: Seat Belt Chime May Not Activate (FMVSS 208)

Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2025 F-150 hybrid vehicles. When the driver or passenger seat belt is not buckled and the vehicle is started, the audible warning chime may not activate as intended, failing to comply with FMVSS 208, “Occupant Crash Protection.”

Dealers will update the audio control module software, free of charge. Owner notification letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed Aug. 25, 2025. Second letters will be sent once the remedy is available. 

Ford: Loss of Power Brake Assist

Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2025 Lincoln Navigator, F-150, Expedition, Bronco, and Ranger vehicles. The Electronic Brake Booster (EBB) module may malfunction while driving or when an ADAS feature is utilized, resulting in a loss of power brake assist.

The EBB module software will be updated over-the-air (OTA) or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Aug. 25, 2025. 

Ford: Rear Windows May Not Reverse (FMVSS 118)

Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2025 Lincoln Aviator vehicles. When closing the windows with the global closing feature, the side rear windows may exert excessive force when encountering an object before automatically reversing, failing to comply with FMVSS 118, “Power-Operated Window Systems.”

Dealers will update the driver door module (DDM) and the passenger door module (PDM) software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Sept. 15, 2025. 

General Motors: High-Voltage Battery Bolts May Be Loose

General Motors is recalling certain 2026 Cadillac Vistiq and 2025 Cadillac Lyriq vehicles. The bolts attaching the high-voltage battery to the interior floor may be missing or loose.

Dealers will inspect the high-voltage battery bolts and replace or re-tighten the bolts, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are scheduled to be mailed Sept. 8, 2025. 

Genesis: Instrument Panel Display May Fail (FMVSS 101)

Hyundai Motor America is recalling certain 2023–2025 Genesis G90 and GV60 vehicles. Due to a software error, the instrument panel display may fail, which does not comply with FMVSS 101, “Controls and Displays.”

The instrument panel display software will be updated over-the-air (OTA) or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Sept. 15, 2025. 

Heil: Battery Bracket May Break

The Heil Co. is recalling certain 2020–2023 Side Loader garbage trucks. The battery support bracket may break and damage the battery case, possibly resulting in a battery rupture and increasing the risk of a fire.

Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the remedy is completed. Heil will replace the batteries, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed Aug. 11, 2025. 

Heil: Hydraulic Fluid Leak May Cause Fire

The Heil Co. is recalling certain 2018–2020 front end loader garbage trucks. Excessive vibrations may cause the front head hydraulic tubes to leak, which in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.

Heil will install stabilizing clamps, new hydraulic tubes, and update the software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Sept. 8, 2025. 

Hyundai: High-Voltage Battery May Catch Fire

Hyundai Motor America is recalling certain 2025 Ioniq 5 vehicles. The high-voltage battery system may contain an improperly tightened bus bar, which can cause a short-circuit.

Owners are advised to park vehicles outside and away from structures until the remedy is complete. Dealers will inspect and repair the high-voltage battery system, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Sept. 20, 2025. 

Jeep: Head Restraints May Not Lock Properly (FMVSS 202)

Chrysler is recalling certain 2023–2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Grand Cherokee L vehicles. The second-row seat head restraints may not lock in the upright position, failing to comply with FMVSS 202, “Head Restraints.”

Dealers will inspect and replace both second-row seat head restraints, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Sept. 5, 2025. 

Kia: Door Belt Molding Trim May Detach

Kia America is recalling certain 2023–2025 Telluride vehicles. The door belt molding trim can delaminate and detach from the vehicle.

Dealers will inspect and replace the belt molding trim assemblies as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Sept. 26, 2025. 

Kia: Rear Window Trim Pieces May Detach

Kia America is recalling certain 2023–2025 K5 vehicles. Rear window trim pieces may come off during operation, creating a potential road hazard.

Dealers will inspect and replace the trim as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Sept. 26, 2025. 

Mack Trucks: Brake Drum Compatibility Issue

Mack Trucks is recalling certain 2026 Granite (GR) trucks. The brake drum and steer axle combination are incompatible, which may cause a loss of brake function and fails to comply with FMVSS 121, “Air Brake Systems.”

Dealers will replace the steer axle brake drums, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Sept. 19, 2025. 

Mitsubishi Fuso: Excessive Brake Friction May Cause Fire

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America (MFTA) is recalling certain 2024 Rizon FEC7K (E16), FEC9K (E18), and 2025 FECXK (E18) trucks. The electric parking brake (EPB) actuator may use an oversized spacer, resulting in excessive friction and overheated brake components.

MFTA will replace the EPB actuator. The brake assembly will be inspected for brake dragging and replaced as necessary. All repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Aug. 22, 2025. 

Mitsubishi: Liftgate Gas Springs May Rupture

Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) is recalling certain 2018–2022 Outlander PHEV and 2014–2020 Outlander vehicles sold and/or registered in select cold-weather states. The liftgate gas spring cylinders may corrode and lose pressure, which can result in a cylinder rupture or the liftgate falling unexpectedly.

MMNA will replace the left and right liftgate gas springs, free of charge. Owner notification letters are scheduled to be mailed Oct. 6, 2025.

Premier Trailer: Hub Oil Seals May Leak

Premier Trailer Solutions is recalling certain 2024 Reel and Pole trailers. The oil seals may have been improperly installed, allowing oil to leak onto the brake system.

Premier Trailer will replace the hub seals, free of charge. All affected trailers were repaired by Feb. 20, 2025. 

Rosenbauer: Odometer May Freeze

Rosenbauer America is recalling certain 2019–2022 Avenger, 2019–2024 Commander, and Warrior fire trucks equipped with an Innovative Controls instrument panel. A software error may cause the odometer to freeze and not display accurate mileage.

Dealers will replace the instrument panel, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Sept. 15, 2025. 

Tesla: Horn May Fail

Tesla is recalling certain 2026 Model Y vehicles. The ring terminal of the horn ground wire may be improperly secured, preventing the horn from sounding.

Tesla service will replace the steering wheel, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Sept. 23, 2025. 

Volkswagen: Loss of Vehicle Control from Loose Tie Rod Bolt

Volkswagen Group of America is recalling certain 2025 Tiguan vehicles. A tie rod bolt on the rear axle assembly may be loose, which can lead to a loss of vehicle control.

Dealers will replace the affected tie rod bolt, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Oct. 10, 2025. 

Volvo Bus: Fire Suppression System May Short Circuit

Volvo Bus Corporation is recalling certain 2023–2025 Volvo 9700 buses. Metallic debris within the electrical connectors of the Automatic Fire Suppression System (AFSS) may cause a short circuit, resulting in a false warning to the driver, an engine shutdown, and the release of fire-extinguishing agent in the engine compartment.

Prevost will inspect and remove any metallic debris from the AFSS connectors, if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Sept. 3, 2025.
