In the Big Solutions Roundtable, attendees had a chance to discuss their biggest challenges with their peers and brainstorm solutions.

Day three of the 2023 Government Fleet Expo & Conference (GFX) was packed with opportunities for public fleet professionals to learn from their peers and network.

The morning kicked off with the Big Solutions Roundtable, led by Government Fleet Executive Editor Nichole Osinski. The interactive session gave attendees a chance to discuss challenges they face in their fleets with others to find solutions and see how other fleet managers overcome obstacles.

Navigating Change, the Unknown, and a Well-Oiled Machine

GFX attendees had a full slate of educational sessions to choose from. In "Change Comes From Within: Fleet Organizational Management," industry veterans shared about ways fleets can adopt new technologies to optimize their organizations.

In "Navigating the Unknown of New Tech, Alt Fuels," a panel led by Utilimarc shared ways to better understand the future of fleet data and how to navigate the upcoming unknown of new tech and alt fuels.

The Expo Hall opened for its second day, giving fleet professionals a chance to connect and learn about the latest technologies and vehicles on the market.

Attendees packed the Shop Talk sessions to learn about preparing to service EVs, as well as ways to navigate difficult situations in the workplace.

The afternoon sessions picked back up with "How Do I Leave?" a session on mentoring, training, and preparing your team to step up and step in when you depart, to keep things running smoothly.

All About Law Enforcement Vehicle Lighting and Upfitting

Day Two of Police Fleet Conference continued with "Light it Up: Spotlight on Law Enforcement Vehicle Lighting." The Adiscussion centered around the science behind police lighting and a look at technology available for police lights. Representatives from major lighting manufacturers also shared about their approach and provided insights on the technology.

The law enforcement track at GFX wrapped up with "Fit to Serve: Law Enforcement Vehicle Upfitting," a session all about ways seasoned fleet managers upfit their law enforcement vehicles. Plus, an upfitter shared insights on what he's learned during his time in the industry.

“Talk to the leadership and make sure that you're meeting their expectations because sometimes what I think is important is not necessarily important for your command staff. Make sure that you understand their expectations,” Jen Brown of Coconino County, Arizona, said about the importance of working alongside the customer in the upfitting process.

The evening winded down with the Farewell Happy Hour, a chance for everyone to mingle and toast to a successful week of networking and educational opportunities.

GFX attendees will close things out on Thursday with optional fleet management software training sessions.
