GM recently announced updates to the Chevrolet Silverado EV Work Truck (WT). The work truck popular in public sector fleets will now offer more capability than previously announced.

What's New on the Truck

GM increased the maximum towing capacity from 8,000 lbs. to 10,000 lbs., with 1,400 lbs. of maximum payload, up from 1,200 lbs. It offers up to 615 lb.-ft. of torque and 510 hp.

The truck, built from the ground up around GM’s new electric Ultium platform, can deliver an estimated 450 miles of range.

The body looks different from its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart, with a unibody architecture, not the standard body-on-frame. It comes in a crew cab with a 5'11" bed.

The initial WT model is only available in summit white.

A GM spokesperson told Government Fleet that ordering for MY2024 is closed at this time for the WT. Stay tuned to find out whether it will reopen.
