A representative told Government Fleet that the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office currently has a fleet of 164 vehicles, which includes patrol, non-descript, and specialty vehicles.
The recent vehicle purchase will replace older or damaged vehicles.
The Ford Explorers will be used for patrol, and the equipment to be installed include emergency lighting, spotlight, siren, storage, and graphics.
The hope is to have the vehicles operational by February of 2025.
The Explorers are purchased off of the State Procurement Contract, which has been competitively bid and saves taxpayer dollars, according to the department.
