Government fleet sales saw a 6% drop to 18,347 vehicles in November, which is down 1,164 vehicles from the 19,512 vehicles sold in November 2023.

However, November data from automakers' reports, showed there was a slight uptick YTD with 253,189 government vehicles sold. This is a 1.1% increase from the same period last year [Hyundai, Nissan, Subaru, and Toyota sales numbers were not present for government fleets during these periods].

Vehicle Sales Slow Down from Past Few Months

Despite 2,749 more government vehicles being sold in 2024 compared to 2023 YTD, November had a dip compared to months when it came to monthly total sales. In fact, November's total monthly sales, coming in at 18,347 vehicles sold, was the lowest of all the months this year so far.

November's monthly total sales were similar to September when the month's sales hit 18,697.

Breaking Down Car, Truck, and SUV Sales

Staying on trend, trucks and SUVs continued to outperform cars during the month. Monthly car sales came in at 278, an 81.3% decrease from the same time last year when 1,484 cars were sold.

Truck and SUV monthly total sales were up just a sliver from 2023 with 18,069 vehicles sold in 2024 whereas 18,028 vehicles were sold in 2023.

Car sales were also down YTD at 6,565 vehicles sold compared to the 19,524 sold in 2023. YTD, Truck and SUV sales were up 6.8% from the previous year at 246,624 vehicles sold and helping round out overall vehicle sales for the year.
