Stewart-Amos Sweeper Co., has introduced the Starfire S-4c, a heavy-duty mid-size mechanical broom street sweeper mounted on a highly maneuverable 19,500-GVWR chassis that does not require a commercial driver's license.

The new model is an update of the company's popular Starlight S-4. Key enhancements include a 10% increase in hopper dump heights (up to 11 feet), a tighter 16-foot, 9-inch turning radius, a 20% larger fuel tank that holds up to 36 gallons, a 2,000-lb. and greater hopper lift capacity.

The S-4c is also the only mechanical broom sweeper on the market that allows customers to specify either street- or curbside hopper dumping, depending on what best meets their visibility, safety, and productivity at the time of purchase.

Standard Starfire features include an exclusive three-shaft elevator system that significantly improves wear life over two-shaft designs; spring-balanced, full-floating gutter brooms that automatically compensate for wear; and extra reach 44-inch dump door that makes debris disposal faster, cleaner, and safer. The unit also has a 4-cubic-yard debris hopper mounted on massive quad x-style lift scissors for improved lifting strength, stability, and dumping capability.
