Zonar has launched Zonar Ignition, a cloud-based fleet management platform designed to consolidate vehicle, driver, and asset data into a single, real-time interface. The system replaces separate legacy platforms and integrates with both Zonar and third-party data sources.
Core Features
Integration-Ready: The platform uses an open API to connect with external systems and supports the development of AI-based modules.
Unified Dashboard: A single-screen view displays fleet and third-party data, including vehicle, driver, and asset status on a high-resolution map.
Real-Time Insights: Data from Zonar’s hardware, compliance tools, driver behavior monitoring, and third-party systems is compiled into more than 30 reports and customizable dashboards. Metrics include fuel use, route efficiency, and safety events, with alerts for speeding, idling, or route deviations.
“Fleet managers have long faced a choice between outdated workflows and unreliable data,” said Charles Kriete, CEO of Zonar. “Ignition gives them one system to manage vehicles, drivers, and assets.”
Background and Integration
The launch is the first major milestone since Zonar’s December 2024 merger with GPS Trackit. The combined resources have accelerated development of the platform, which integrates with existing Zonar tools such as EVIR for electronic inspections, CARB compliance tools, Z Pass for student rider tracking, and Zonar Coach for driver coaching.
Zonar said Ignition is designed to support multiple vehicle types, including school buses, sanitation trucks, and utility vehicles, and to adapt to future operational requirements.
