AssetWorks FleetFocus and FuelFocus Selected to Improve Fleet Operations for University of Hawaii

WAYNE, PA – AssetWorks, a leading provider of fleet Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software and Automated Fuel Systems, announced that it has commenced a fleet management software and fuel system services deployment with the University of Hawaii’s main campus in Honolulu.

WAYNE, PA – AssetWorks, a leading provider of fleet Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software and Automated Fuel Systems, announced that it has commenced a fleet management software and fuel system services deployment with the University of Hawaii’s main campus in Honolulu.

AssetWorks FleetFocus, a browser-based solution, tracks all functions related to the maintenance of equipment, including processing repair and preventive maintenance (PM) work orders, tracking operating expenses (e.g., fuel, oil, and licensing), and tracking and billing for equipment usage. FleetFocus also supports, shop scheduling, replacement analysis, equipment and replacement planning, and AVL/GPS integration. With FleetFocus, organizations can reduce maintenance expenditures and inventory expenses, while simultaneously improving productivity, efficiency, and asset utilization.

AssetWorks FuelFocus is an automated fuel management system that supports continuous, real-time fuel management and integrates seamlessly with FleetFocus. FuelFocus supports all metered or pulsed consumables, including gasoline, diesel, propane, CNG, LNG, hydrogen, glycol and lubricants.

The University is deploying FuelFocus with full Radio Frequency (RF) capabilities by deploying RF units on all their vehicles, for ease of use, maximum security, and accuracy of data.

Additionally, our University fleet customer base continues to grow and includes the Colorado State University, University of Alabama, University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), University of Colorado, University of Connecticut, University of California Davis, University of Davis Medical Center, University of Massachusetts, and we are currently deploying at the University of Michigan. We are excited to add the University of Hawaii as a client, and we look forward to a successful implementation,” stated Jim Schnepp, Vice President of Sales, AssetWorks.

The University of Hawaii Transportation Services Office plans and coordinates the repair, maintenance, and refueling of the motor vehicles for the University of Hawaii on the island of Oahu. Transportation Services operates the maintenance and repair shop for vehicles on the island of Oahu, prepares specifications for the purchase of vehicles, and coordinates the issuance of University of Hawaii decals and State of Hawaii license plates for all vehicles in the entire statewide University of Hawaii system. The University system consists of numerous campuses and sites on the islands of Kauai, Oahu, Maui, Molokai, and Hawaii.

One of the University’s main goals with this new system is to increase the availability of information.

Some of the specific information that FleetFocus can help them track includes; equipment costs, utilization, fleet replacement, activity-based costs, employee performance and productivity, comeback rate by technician, and parent-child tracking of unit cost. FleetFocus also provides the ability to track accidents and insurance for fleet vehicles.

Other goals identified by the University include:

• Improve workload planning and scheduling.

• Improve the distribution of information about the fleet to University of Hawaii departments.

• Reduce dependency on paper forms.

• Simplify access to information about vehicles.

• Benchmark operational efficiency, effectiveness, productivity, and cost.

• Provide on-line Motor Pool and online customer information capabilities.

• Reduce vehicle fueling labor through automation.

After a competitive procurement process that included on-site demonstrations, client site visits and a full analysis of the leading fleet software applications for public sector fleets, the University of Hawaii selected AssetWorks’ FleetFocus browser-based enterprise asset management software fully-integrated with the FuelFocus Automated Fueling Solution. These integrated systems provide real-time data validation and update. Raymond Shito, Manager of Parking & Transportation Services, University of Hawaii, stated: "We are excited about taking our University's fleet and motor pool from a manual operation to a computermanaged system to help us improve our business efficiency. We've heard a lot of good things about the AssetWorks’ solution and are looking forward to working with the AssetWorks team in helping us moveforward with this project."
