BAY CITY, MI - The Bay City Commission approved a new policy Jan. 24 aimed at stopping city employees from wasting fuel, reported WNEM news.
The vehicle idling policy will prohibit employees from idling city-owned vehicles, which is expected to result in up to $500,000 in savings, City Manager Robert Belleman told WNEM. Watch video from the meeting.
Belleman also said vehicle idling has been a problem for some time, and that employees who violate the new policy could face disciplinary action, according to WNEM.
