CHANTILLY, VA - Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio has implemented a car sharing solution to reduce staff workload and streamline motor pool operations.

According to university officials, Cedarville averages more than 260 vehicle requests per week from 250 users of its 26-vehicle fleet.  The university sought a car sharing solution that would meet the needs of its fleet users, maximize the use of their vehicles, and ease the administrative burden on its fleet managers. The university implemented FleetCommander from Agile Access Control Inc.  According to Cedarville, a key consideration in their selection of FleetCommander was the fact that it could be implemented smoothly so that the transition could be easy for university fleet staff.

"It took us no time at all to get started, and we saw immediate advantages,” said Vicky Hines, Cedarville's fleet coordinator. “With FleetCommander, we now use one system instead of three, and billing data is automatically generated when vehicles return. I am so thankful we are using FleetCommander now."

Agile said it worked closely with Cedarville's fleet staff to facilitate the transition to FleetCommander by importing user, department, and asset data from legacy systems, developing a custom billing algorithm to automate accounting processes, addressing customer support questions, and providing hands-on FleetCommander application training for staff.
