RENO, NV - At a groundbreaking ceremony, Advanced Refining Concepts LLC (ARC), exclusive producers of clean-burning GDiesel, announced that it has commenced construction on Phase 3 and 4 of its Peru Heights refinery. The expansion, which is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2012, will double the plant's capacity to 400,000 gallons of GDiesel per day. GDiesel, designated as an alternative diesel fuel by Nevada under NAC 486A.140, is exclusively used by several city and county fleets in the state under this legislation, and sold in retail stations, truck stops, and to large fleet customers in lieu of traditional diesel fuel.

ARC also announced it is currently in the permitting stage for a second refinery in the Las Vegas area, which will allow the company to better service its growing customer base in Southern Nevada and Arizona.

"The Advanced Refining Concepts expansion is a triple bottom line win for the greater Reno-Tahoe area," said Chuck Alvey, president and CEO of the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN). "ARC's innovative fuel product is helping create new jobs, enhance the environment, and a local company grow - a great development all around."

ARC's Peru Heights refinery is located approximately nine miles east of Reno, Nev. in the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center. Phase 3 and 4 represent the company's second expansion project since the refinery originally opened in 2010 with a 100,000 gallon per day capacity. In October 2010 the company embarked on its Phase 2 refinery expansion that doubled the capacity to 200,000 gallons per day. Phase 2 was completed earlier this year. The Peru Heights refinery utilizes the patented and industry-first low profile, zero emission closed loop ClearRefining process owned by the company.

The Peru Heights refinery currently employs 15 full-time operators. The construction of Phase 3 and 4, as well as the associated ongoing fuel transportation, are expected to add more than 100 new jobs to the local economy.
