WAUKESHA, WI - Waukesha-based Odyne Systems, LLC, a manufacturer of hybrid systems for medium- and heavy-duty work trucks, is showcasing its new advanced hybrid propulsion system in booth 5360 at the NTEA (National Truck Equipment Association) show March 6-8 in Indianapolis. The Odyne Hybrid Power plug-in system is designed to interface with a wide variety of truck-mounted equipment, lowering fuel consumption by up to 50 percent, reducing emissions, and providing quieter operation at the worksite. Odyne's plug-in hybrid truck system increases fuel efficiency and power while driving by using a Remy electric motor in parallel with the existing drivetrain to provide launch assist and regenerative braking. At the jobsite, the Odyne hybrid plug-in battery system, featuring Johnson Controls' lithium-ion battery packs, powers typical worksite applications with the engine off for a much longer time than other commercially available large truck hybrid systems.

The Odyne Hybrid Power plug-in hybrid system will also be on display on a Ford F-750 chassis in Ford booth 3439, and in a stationary display at the Ride and Drive event powering a Vanair compressor truck.

Panel Discussions and Press Event
Monday, March 5: Odyne President and CEO, Joe Dalum, will participate in a CALSTART panel discussion at the Green Truck Summit entitled, "Finding the Right Hybrid Application: It's All About Your Drive and Duty Cycle". The discussion is scheduled at 2:30-3:15 p.m. in Room 105.

Tuesday, March 6: Matt Jarmuz, Director of Sales, will be speaking at the NTEA conference in a breakout session: "Odyne Plug-in Hybrid Systems for Medium and Heavy-Duty Trucks", scheduled at 10:00-10:45 a.m. in Room 102.

Wednesday, March 7, Odyne will hold a press conference from 9:30am to 10:00am in Room 242.

Joe Dalum, president and CEO of Odyne Systems shared, "We're looking forward to this event and the opportunity to share how the Odyne Hybrid Power system delivers improved performance for medium and large work trucks. Odyne's unique system helps reduce operating costs through higher efficiency, and depending on duty cycle, enables large trucks to obtain fuel economy improvements of up to 50 percent, compared to traditional diesel or gasoline engines. It is the only plug-in hybrid system on a medium- or heavy-duty truck to deliver greater fuel efficiency both while driving and at the jobsite."
