WEST LAFAYETTE, IN - The City of West LaFayette has approved a 2010 take-home vehicle policy for city employees, according to the Journal & Courier.
Take-home vehicles were approved for Police Chief Jason Dombkowski and 20 police officers; two fire officials; plus a 2008 Dodge Charger for Mayor John Dennis and a 2003 Ford Taurus for city engineer David Buck.
Dennis and Buck are the only two non-emergency employees who accepted take-home vehicles under a city policy, adopted in 2008, that allows department heads and support staff to use one if they are willing to pay $3 a day to cover the commute, reported J&C.
